This policy explains how OneZero ("the app", "we", "our") handles information on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. OneZero was called 300BLK Dope before version 3.0, and this policy replaces the earlier 300BLK Dope privacy policies.
In short
- We don't collect personal information. There are no accounts, ads, analytics SDKs or tracking.
- Your rifles, loads and settings are stored on your devices and are never sent to us.
- Location is used only to get the weather on iPhone and Apple Watch, and sunrise and sunset times on Apple Watch.
Information the App Uses
Location on iPhone and iPad
- When: only when you tap Use Current Weather, and only with your permission ("While Using the App")
- Why: to get the current weather for where you are from Apple Weather, and the altitude from your location fix
- Sharing: your location goes to Apple's WeatherKit service to look up the weather, and to no one else. It isn't linked to your identity.
- Storage: the app doesn't keep your coordinates. The altitude it fills in is saved with your setup, like any value you type.
- Optional: you can deny location access and enter conditions by hand
Location on Apple Watch
- Why: to work out today's sunrise and sunset times, which the watch calculates itself, and, if you turn on Weather Updates on the watch, to get the weather and altitude where you are
- When: an approximate fix (to about a kilometer) when you open the app, for the sun times. With Weather Updates on, a precise fix when you open the app and every 15 minutes while it stays open; never in the background
- Sharing: for Weather Updates, your location goes to Apple's WeatherKit service to look up the weather, and to no one else. It isn't linked to your identity. Sun times never send it anywhere.
- Storage: the last fix is kept on the watch so the sun times still show at the range without a new one. The weather and altitude it brings are saved with your setup and sent to your iPhone (see Apple Watch Sync).
- Optional: Weather Updates is off unless you turn it on, and without location access the watch app works the same, just without sun times or weather
Weather Data
- Retrieved from Apple Weather (WeatherKit) when you tap Use Current Weather on iPhone, or by the watch with Weather Updates on: temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, and wind speed and direction
- The values fill your Conditions fields and are saved on your device with your setup, so you can edit them like anything you type
- Weather requests go directly from your device to Apple. We receive nothing about them.
Rifles, Loads and Settings
- Your setup, saved rifles and rounds (with any range groups you add to true a BC), target cards and preferences are stored on your device in the app's local storage (iOS UserDefaults)
- They are never uploaded to us or to any cloud service by the app
- Like other app data, they're included in your device's own iCloud or computer backups if you have backups turned on, under Apple's privacy policy
Apple Watch Sync
- Your iPhone sends your current setup (rifle, rounds, conditions, target cards and their names) to your paired Apple Watch through Apple's encrypted Watch Connectivity service
- Changes you make on the watch (the wind, a round's velocity, target cards, and weather it fetched) go back to your iPhone the same way and update its setup
- The watch keeps the latest setup so it works when your phone isn't nearby
- This goes only between your own devices; we never see it
Dope Card PDFs
When you tap the share button on the Solution tab, the app creates a PDF dope card on your device. It goes only where you choose to send or save it.
Information We Don't Collect
OneZero has no servers of its own. We do not collect, store or receive:
- Personal identification information such as your name, email address or phone number
- Your location history
- Your rifle, ammunition or ballistic data
- Usage analytics, advertising identifiers or tracking data
- Purchase information beyond what Apple provides to developers through the App Store
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS or watchOS settings (Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give us crash reports and aggregated usage statistics. Apple strips them of information that identifies you, and we use them only to fix problems. You can turn this off at any time in the same setting.
Third-Party Services
OneZero contains no third-party SDKs. It uses only these Apple services:
- Apple Weather (WeatherKit): weather for your location when you tap Use Current Weather on iPhone or turn on Weather Updates on Apple Watch, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy
- Watch Connectivity: sends your setup, and changes made on the watch, between your iPhone and Apple Watch
- App Store and TestFlight: downloads, updates and beta testing are handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy
Data Storage and Security
- All app data is stored on your devices, protected by the standard security of iOS and watchOS
- The only data that leaves your devices is a weather request to Apple and your setup going between your iPhone and your watch
- Deleting the app removes its data from that device; delete it from your iPhone and your Apple Watch to remove it everywhere
Data Retention
- Your setup, presets and settings stay on your device until you delete them or the app
- Your location is not kept after a weather lookup, on iPhone or Apple Watch; the watch keeps only its last fix for sun times, on the watch
- Nothing is retained on external servers by us
Children's Privacy
OneZero is intended for adults for lawful sporting and hunting purposes. It contains content about firearms and ammunition that is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Your Rights and Choices
- Location: allow or revoke access at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > OneZero, on your iPhone and on your watch
- Manual entry: enter every condition yourself without granting location access
- Deletion: delete presets in the app, or delete the app to remove all of its data
Because we don't hold any of your personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on your behalf. Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA still give you these rights, and you're welcome to contact us with any request or question.
International Users
OneZero is available worldwide. Calculations happen on your device, and weather requests are handled by Apple according to Apple's regional privacy policies.
Changes to This Policy
